Founder Daisaku Ikeda offered many words of encouragement to students during his visit to the library on January 22, 2004.

As eternal guiding principles for the library, we have adopted the following five points as our mottos.

2.  Reading is a wellspring for achievers.
3.  Reading is a companion of happiness.
4.  Reading opens a path to greatness.
5.  Reading good books and challenging bad books—this is the way of a champion of justice.
